Southern Fried Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 8 chicken pieces (legs/thighs)
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Directions:

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk, salt, and pepper for 2 hours or overnight.
  2. Combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dredge chicken in flour mix; shake off excess.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F in deep skillet.
  5. Fry chicken until golden brown and internal temp hits 165°F.
  6. Drain on paper towels before serving.
