Ingredients:
- 1 cup cornmeal
- ½ cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk
- ½ onion, minced
Directions:
- Mix dry and wet ingredients separately.
- Combine and fold in onion.
- Drop spoonfuls into hot oil; fry until golden.
Going back to the cornbread recipe you can use the substitution and if you want sweet hush puppies add the sugar as well.
